Events Manager

The Organic Trade Association, and its affiliated non-profit The Organic Center, is looking for an Events Manager. If you share our passion for creating high-quality, on-target, in-person opportunities to connect organic food and farming professionals then we’d like to learn more about you. The right candidate will have deep experience and enthusiasm for event planning and execution, and be excited about supporting our mission and stakeholders.

Who is our next Events Manager?

  • You understand the full scale of operations that goes into planning an event, including knowledge of logistics, marketing, service and financial management.
  • You have solid research, analysis, and evaluation skills.
  • You have a strong understanding of contract negotiation and budget management.
  • You have the ability to integrate imagination and creativity into your work.
  • You are comfortable presenting recommendations to leadership, as well as serving as the internal event planning expert for questions around special events.
  • You can effectively and efficiently handle simultaneous and complex tasks, including planning for multiple events at the same time.
  • You can proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.
  • You have knowledge of sponsorship and fundraising strategies.
  • You proactively build, develop and grow vendor relationships vital to the success of each project.
  • You have the ability to motivate, manage and maintain groups of volunteers and staff for event support.
  • You demonstrate flexibility and problem-solving skills to resolve situations in a professional and calm manner.
  • You are adept at generating and analyzing event metrics. You balance data with qualitative feedback from event attendees.
  • You have experience with CRM systems like SalesForce and Cvent, and you are proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Location:
We have offices in Brattleboro, VT and Washington, D.C. A remote opportunity could be considered for an exceptional candidate.

Compensation:
A competitive compensation and progressive benefits package is included. Salary is commensurate with skill level.
