The North American Organic Coffee Industry Report $325.00 $420.00 $0.00

Daniele Giovannucci’s North American Organic Coffee Industry Report 2010

Daniele Giovannucci’s “North American Organic Coffee Industry Report 2010” notes that the value of organic coffee makes it the single most important organic import. The 24 page report includes information from the only annual survey of the industry and presents the views and predictions of the importers and roasters that shape and dominate the business. It reveals total volumes, trends, the price premiums over conventional coffees, and the estimated value of the coffees imported.  The report also reviews the emerging trends that are now impacting the industry and the key origins where changes may affect future supplies.  In the U.S. and Canada, organic coffee sales in 2009 are valued at over US $1.4 billion.

Canadian Organic Retailing Practices Manual and Guide $55.00 $75.00 $0.00

Cota Retail GuideThis manual is provided as an educational resource and introduction to handling, storing and selling organic products in Canada. It was developed by the Canada Organic Trade Association for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Organic Value Chain Roundtable. It has been developed in consultation with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, with members of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s Canada Organic Office, and representatives of the national and regional organic and retail sectors.

Users of this manual are reminded that it is a voluntary best practices guide meant to provide them with insight on how to protect the organic integrity of the products they handle. By adopting any or all of the practices and procedures described herein, retailers and individuals do so under their own recognisance: these best-practices will not guarantee organic products will maintain their organic status, nor that retailers will necessarily pass inspection of their organic handling, storing or selling activities by CFIA inspectors.

The authors maintain, always, that the most rigorous manner of assuring organic integrity is to have all handling, storing and preparing activities fully certified to the Canadian Organic Standards by a CFIA-approved certifying body.

This manual is also available for free download in (PDF) format.
