The OTA Calendar is full of events that are either organized or attended by OTA. We are pleased to organize and support dozens of events that advance organic agriculture and trade throughout the year. Some of these are signature OTA events hosted for members, while others are regional, national, or international conferences where OTA staff are featured keynotes and panelists. CCOF Annual Meeting

California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF’s) 2017 Annual Meeting and Conference events will take place February 9-10, 2017, in Visalia, California. This year’s theme—Organic Innovation and Inspiration—will feature the innovative techniques organic producers, handlers, retailers, and other change-makers are using to address current economic and environmental issues, as well as big ideas for tackling the challenges of tomorrow. We invite you to join other innovators to change the world by changing the way we grow.

The festivities begin Thursday evening with the first annual CCOF Foundation Awards Feast. Hear from the next generation of organic producers and the champions who are helping them build their careers in agriculture. Friday’s full-day conference will focus on the innovations that are shaping our organic world. From new technology to out-of-the-box solutions for sustainability, you won’t want to miss this show and tell from some of organic’s biggest thinkers.

Washington State Dept of Agriculture Organic Advisory Board Meeting

Friday, March 4, 2016 - 9:30am

The Washington State Dept of Agriculture Organic Advisory Board Meeting will take place March 4th in Olympia, WA. The Organic Advisory Board provides guidance to WSDA on its organic certification program and provides WSDA a forum to communicate important changes in the organic industry to key organic stakeholders in Washington State.  OTA’s Senior Crops and Livestock Specialist, Nate Lewis, currently sits on the advisory board in a designated “Industry Supporter” seat. OTA will sponsor ten buyers from all over the world to come to Expo West in Anaheim, California, March 8-13 to connect with U.S. organic companies. International buyer profiles are now available to view. For a small participation fee, OTA organizes one-on-ones with highly motivated buyers looking to bring U.S. organic products to their customers. OTA will also lead several education sessions on trade.

Organic Council of Ontario Annual General Meeting

Organic Council of Ontario Annual General Meeting

Thursday, March 24, 2016 - 9:00am

The Organic Council of Ontario will hold its annual meeting Thursday, March 24th 2016. Marni Karlin, OTA's Vice President of Government Affairs, will discuss the consultation process and regulatory changes that the Organic Trade Association facilitated culminating in the creation of GRO Organic, the proposed Generic Research and Promotions Order for the Organic Sector.  The GRO Organic check off program stands to raise $30 million annually for the US organic sector for the purpose of  research into organic pest management and inputs, collecting data on market trends and promoting the organic claim to grow consumer awareness.
