The Spring 2025 Meeting of the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) is taking place virtually from April 29 to May 1.

The National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) will meet to discuss substances petitioned for addition to or deletion from the National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances (National List), substances due to sunset from the National List in 2027, and recommendations on organic policies.

The NOSB typically meets twice per year in various locations around the United States. Prior to meetings, the NOSB reviews written public comments and listens to oral public comments. During meetings, the NOSB discusses agenda items, and then votes on recommendations to the Secretary in a public forum. Detailed meeting information, including agendas, locations, proposals, and public comments, will be posted below as it becomes available.

As a service to our members, OTA’s Regulatory Team compiled a report on the meeting highlights, outcomes and next steps.

OTA Sunset Surveys

OTA wants to hear from you! The NOSB begins its sunset review cycle at the spring meeting. Public input is key to ensuring the Board makes an informed decision in the fall on whether to continue to allow these sunset materials. OTA has developed summaries and surveys for this round of sunset materials to help inform our position. Please review the materials up for sunset review and let us know their importance to your operation!

Please complete the Sunset Surveys by EOD April 16.

Please also consider submitting your own comments to the Board (see the Submitting Written and Oral Comments tab below), with answers to any questions posed by the Board as well as how you use these materials, their importance to your operation, and any other information or data you feel would be helpful in their decision making.
