If you’re looking for a comprehensive update on the organic industry, you’ve come to the right place! The Organic Trade Association (OTA) is the premier source of information about organic. The first half of this session will dive into data and trends, exploring how shoppers' knowledge, attitudes, and willingness to pay for organic products vary across generations.  You’ll gain valuable insights into how USDA Organic compares to other popular claims and certifications—such as regenerative, natural, and more—and how it performs in the marketplace. We will also look at how organic sales performed in 2024 and the outlook for future growth. The second half of this session will focus on government affairs and the current political landscape for organic in D.C. OTA serves as the unifying voice of the U.S. organic industry on Capitol Hill, proactively engaging year-round to promote and protect organic agriculture and trade through legislative and regulatory advocacy. Join us to learn the latest updates on the Farm Bill, the new Administration, the new Congress, the new Secretary of Agriculture, and OTA’s strategy for navigating this changing environment.

Inside Organic Workshop: Elevate, Educate, Communicate—What’s Your Organic Message?

Friday, March 7th 11:00am–12:00pm, Marriott Grand Ballroom F

Join organic advocates, leaders, fans and manufacturers for a collaborative in-person roundtable discussion focused on elevating organic attributes and “What is organic?”

  • What is the organic message you would like elevated?
  • What resources are already available to do this (there are a lot!)?
  • What does a roadmap look like to elevate messaging even further?

There is a lot of data and research available telling us what organic attributes consumers do and do not understand. We have data by generation—who’s thinking about clean products, who focuses on sustainability and who defines organic by no pesticides or soil health. We have research, too. What we don’t have is a collaborative mindset to translate all the great things about organic—integrity and impact on farmers, communities and the planet—to amazing social campaigns, media coverage or educational resources. We talk more about what organic isn’t than all that it is. So, let’s start talking and figure out what this industry really has to say about itself.  We look forward to seeing you. Positive, inclusive mindset requested. No RSVP needed.
