The Fall 2025 Meeting of the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) is taking place in Omaha, Nebraska virtually from November 4 to 6.
The National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) will meet to discuss substances petitioned for addition to or deletion from the National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances (National List), substances due to sunset from the National List in 2027, and recommendations on organic policies.
The NOSB typically meets twice per year in various locations around the United States. Prior to meetings, the NOSB reviews written public comments and listens to oral public comments. During meetings, the NOSB discusses agenda items, and then votes on recommendations to the Secretary in a public forum. Detailed meeting information, including agendas, locations, links to join virtually, proposals, and public comments, will be posted below as it becomes available. For information on previous meetings, visit the NOSB meetings page.
The Fall 2025 Meeting of the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) will take place in-person November 4-6 in Omaha, NE. Virtual oral comment webinars will occur in advance on October 28 & 30. The deadline to submit written comments and sign up for virtual and in-person oral comments is October 8, 2025.
The meetings are free, open to the public, and no registration is required, except to sign up for oral comments. Times shown for face-to-face meetings are always in the meeting location’s local time zone. Webinars and commenting deadlines are always based on the Eastern time zone.
The NOSB Fall 2025 Meeting Agenda and Meeting Packet (all proposals, discussion documents, and Sunset Reviews to be considered at the meeting) are available and the comment period is open. As a service to our members, we have created an At-A-Glance Summary so you can quickly identify topics that may impact your organic business. OTA wants to hear from you! Public input is key to ensuring the Board makes an informed decision in the fall on whether to continue to allow these sunset materials. OTA has developed summaries and embedded links in the At-A-Glance Summary to directly email your feedback to OTA. Please review the materials up for sunset review and let us know their importance to your operation!
Please also consider submitting your own comments to the Board (see the Submitting Written and Oral Comments tab below), with answers to any questions posed by the Board as well as how you use these materials, their importance to your operation, and any other information or data you feel would be helpful in their decision-making.
