This year’s Southern Region Small Farms Conference is taking place in Mobile, Alabama December 3-5. The gathering brings together farmers, researchers, educators, and agricultural professionals from across the South for three days of hands-on demonstrations, farm field days, and training opportunities focused on strengthening small farm viability and resilience.
This year, The Organic Center, in partnership with the Organic Trade Association (OTA), is helping shape the conference’s Organic Track, which will feature interactive and research-based sessions designed to expand understanding and support for organic agriculture in the Southeast. Sessions will explore the science behind organic farming, highlight farmer-centered research and participatory approaches, and discuss practical strategies for building inclusive extension networks and supporting the next generation of farmers
