Canada’s Organic Week welcomes new partner

Organizers of Canada’s annual Organic Week are pleased to announce a new partner organization has joined with them to expand Canada’s largest celebration of organic farming and products.

Established four years ago by the Canadian Organic Growers (COG) and the Canada Organic Trade Association (COTA), Organic Week has become a successful retail promotion, educational campaign, and grassroots celebration. It has grown with the support of over 40 corporate sponsors and dozens of regional partners across the country—from schools and farmers’ markets to the country’s leading trade show for organic products.

The Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA), a long-time supporter of Organic Week, will now formally join COG and COTA as a full partner. In a joint statement, COG and COTA indicated they were “very excited to include CHFA in the planning and running of Organic Week, and expanding the event to reach more consumers and retailers across Canada.”

“The Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA) has been a pioneering sponsor and avid supporter of Organic Week from the beginning. We have worked closely with both COTA and COG in the past, and are pleased to partner fully with both associations in support of this important initiative,” said Helen Sherrard, CHFA President. “As Canada’s largest trade association dedicated to natural health and organic products, many of our members are heavily involved in the organic industry. We see this as a perfect fit, and are looking forward to continuing to build the momentum and success COTA and COG have established.”

This year, Organic Week will take place Sept. 22-29. Opportunities for official Organic Week retailers and sponsors will be unveiled in early April.
