The Organic Trade Association (OTA) announced today the full results of its 2015 Organic Industry Survey are now available for purchase. The study, which tracks dozens of categories and subcategories ranging from fruit to fiber, provides both raw data and strategic analysis for those with an interest in the $39.1 billion U.S. organic sector.

The Canadian organic sector takes allegations of fraud very seriously. In fact, this is the reason we approached the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in 2005 and asked for laws to regulate organic: so that consumers could trust the claim, and so that the possibility of fraud could be met with the full power of Canada’s public enforcement authorities.  

The Organic Trade Association has called on the White House to officially recognize organic farming practices as beneficial to the health of honey bees and other pollinators, and to emphasize agricultural production methods as a key solution to stopping disproportionate bee deaths.

An important and timely report just released by The Organic Center shows that organic farming practices are effective in maintaining the health and population of important crop pollinators, predominantly bees, which have been declining at an alarming rate in the past decade and threatening global food security.
