Handsome Brook Farm, LLC
Ten years ago, Bryan and I moved to upstate New York to start a farm. We thought it might be fun to try raising chickens, and purchased our first five baby chicks, which then grew into our first flock. A year later, after adding Suzie and Ned (our sheep) and Ezra the Calf, we started a Farmstay Bed and Breakfast, featuring of course, our farm fresh eggs.
Our guests, most from New York City, raved about how delicious our eggs were. We tried to figure out what made our eggs so special and realized – it’s how our hens are raised. Outdoors, on pasture, where they hunt and peck and have a marvelous time. We thought to ourselves…Aren’t Cage Free and Organic hens raised the same way? We had much to learn…and learned quickly that eggs that are generally available from the grocery stores, including Organic, Cage Free and “Free Roaming” are from hens that are kept in warehouses…often 50,000 to 100,000 chickens in barn. These conditions are horrible, we thought. And so began our mission to make “Pasture Raised” eggs available to more people, and to have them available through grocery stores. We’re making serious progress, as more and more stores are adding our Handsome Brook Farm Pasture Raised Eggs to their dairy cases. We’re changing the way people buy eggs and how chickens are raised – and that is incredibly gratifying.
We have grown, largely through the blessing of putting together a group of Amish farms, who are deeply committed to sustainable practices and support and follow our very strict Pasture Raised standards. All of our hens are raised on lush, green pasture. We all love our hens, and are committed to their welfare and the quality of the eggs that we serve you, our customer. We are delighted to now sell our eggs to customers throughout the United States!
If you ever have question or suggestion, please feel free to call us at (607) 829-2587. The phone still rings at our farmhouse…and we’re always glad to talk to you!

HBD International, Inc.
Greg Harrison grew up in a rural community in Iowa and received his DVM degree from Iowa State University in 1967. He established his own private small animal practice in Florida in 1969, and his professional interests involved a wide variety of species, including a stint with zoo animals at Lion Country Safari in West Palm Beach. When a chlamydiosis outbreak occurred in a large aviculture/pet shop facility in 1973, he was called upon to help resolve this, and his specific passion for pet bird species began.
Heavy importation of pet birds into the USA was occurring at that time, and he was instrumental in introducing endoscopic examination of monomorphic pet bird species for sex determination. Because of this physical contact with a large number of bird species, he began to notice that individuals that had been in captivity for some time were no longer bright, beautiful and healthy-looking. Plus, reproductive results were spotty at best.
Captive birds at that time were fed primarily sunflower seeds, so he began to experiment with various dietary formulas to try to improve their health. After consulting with successful aviculturists and avian nutritionists, a line of formulated foods was developed. Because of the high metabolic rate of birds and their sensitivity to pesticides and other chemical toxins in the environment, the exclusive use of certified organic ingredients became part of the program.
The carefully compounded foods, which were initially used in a clinical trial to improve the breeding results of a group of hyacinth macaws, became the basis for Harrison's Bird Foods, the world's first organic formulated pet food.
From the original development of bakery-produced "cakes" to the current ethically sourced and produced extruded nuggets, slight variations in the ingredients have been made over the years based on clinical results and research in a variety of avian species. But the constant goal has always been to produce the best product for longevity and overall health of the avian patient, whether during growth, egg-laying, molt, illness or adult maintenance.

Heartland Mill, Inc.
At the mill, wheat is transformed from a farmer's crop to a baker's ingredient. The closer these two ends of the bread line work, the better the wheat, the flour, and the bread. Henry Miller wrote "When the bread is bad, the whole life is bad." The converse of that is also true, that when bread is good, life's pretty good, too. At Heartland we strive to close the distance between High Plains wheat farmers and craft bakers everywhere, and to contribute in our small way to better life and better bread for farmers, bakers, and everyday bread eaters.
Our wheat varieties are selected and bred to produce good crops under the unpredictable and sometimes harsh conditions of the Bread Basket. These same wheats must also mill into good flour and bake into good bread of diverse sorts, from sandwich loaves to ciabatta, from 100% whole wheat to creamy-white baguettes. There are wheat varieties that do well in the field, but not so well in the bakery, and vice versa. We look for wheat that performs well in both field and oven.
We have long been developing relationships with farmers who grow grain to the exacting standards of our customers and our third-party certifying body. These men and women are the foundation of our quality. Their knowledge, experience, and hard work are evident in every bag of Heartland flour and in the outstanding baked goods of our customers.
We grow and buy certified organic wheat because we believe that organic farming will help to preserve the quality of our soils and water and to maintain the health of our rural communities. We produce and sell certified organic flour because we believe that our ultimate customer, the bread eater, expects and deserves the safest and most healthful food possible, as well as an opportunity to choose an agriculture that fosters human and natural communities.

Hella Nuts, LLC
We’re Kami and Mieko, founders of Hella Nuts™. As a two-person, mother-daughter team, we strive to bring delicious and flavorful vegan food to the Bay Area. When we started our plant-based journey in 2018, we realized that there weren’t many vegan options available at the supermarket that were allergen-friendly. We knew we had to come up with better alternatives, free from gluten, chemicals, fillers, and soy, just all-natural ingredients.
With a passion for flavor and creating easier access to organic food in urban communities of color, we decided to create Hella Nuts™. As a black-owned and women-owned business, Hella Nuts™ aims to transform the stigma of how a vegan lifestyle isn’t for people of color or how vegan food is flavorless, to being delicious food for everybody. We manufacture ready-to-eat plant-based products and run a late-night eatery. The heart of our business is our late-night eatery, as a plant-based eatery in Oakland, California, we specialize in using an array of nuts, seeds, and legumes. We have been featured in various publications such as VegNews, Peta, San Francisco Business Times, and more. We are proud to be a staple in our community.

Hibernia Misiones S.A.
HIBERNIA MISIONES was established in 1988 as an alcohol distillery and later transformed into what is now a fully equipped organic sugar mill. It is located in the village of Santa María de Fe, 225 kilometers south of Asunción, the capital of Paraguay. This is the area where the Jesuits began their evangelization in the 16th. century. They built protected reservations and missions to educate the indigenous people and showed them how to work the soil and raise cattle. Conservation of the environment is therefore a very high priority in the local community and HIBERNIA MISIONES plays an important and complimentary role in this regard, hence all of our products are 100% organic.

Homestead Farms, Inc.
At Homestead Farms, we work hard to select and grow the finest tasting organic vegetables you will find. Focusing on heirloom varieties allows us to grow vegetables with tremendous flavor. Heirloom varieties are chosen for flavor. Most times they are not found in the supermarket because they are not known for their ability to travel, thus, some items might be new to your tastebuds. The following is a list of vegetables slated for production in 2012. This is our plan. Mother Nature is also working on her plan for the growing season and sometimes our plans don't mesh. We do the best we can with what we know, but occasionally, Mother Nature gets the best of certain vegetables.
