F.W. Cobs Company Inc.

Shaun Brooks founded F. W. Cobs Company in 2006, after graduating from The University of Arizona with a degree in Animal Science. Shaun was raised in an agriculture setting both with his father’s feed mill and family dairy farm. Shaun’s father, John Brooks, helped Shaun build F. W. Cobs with his strong knowledge, having over 40 years in the grain business - founding Brooks Feeds Inc. in Swanton, VT, now owned by Poulin Grain, and also managing feed mill business for ADM and Renaissance Nutrition.

F. W. Cobs first started in the Northeast, but quickly grew to having a large North American presence, utilizing four strategically located grain elevators throughout the US and Canada. F. W. Cobs buys and sells both feed and milling-grade grains; buying directly from the grower and delivering to feed mills and milling companies throughout North America. F. W. Cobs is committed to supplying the best possible Organic, Non-GMO and Conventional Grains that help feed the world through building strong relationships with industry leading growers, thus ensuring premium quality products for it's customers.

Now almost 10 years later, we serve a diverse customer base ranging from multi-national conglomerates, locally owned and operated feed mills, and family owned and operated farms. We strive to understand our customers' needs and goals, to build strong relationships based on trust, reliability and competence in the markets we serve. We understand that it is hard to find a knowledgeable and dedicated team who is committed to helping you achieve your goals. As farmers ourselves, we know that finding a trustworthy supplier for quality products often can be complicated and time consuming. We work diligently to obtain the best outcomes for all by streamlining transportation needs, managing logistics with a focus on timeliness and reliability.

Fair Hill Farms, Inc.

Fair Hill is a fourth generation dairy and certified organic grain farm located near picturesque Chestertown on Maryland's eastern shore. We sell certified organic field crops and hay.
Ed Fry, whose farm is on Rte 213 just north of Chestertown, has been farming for 30 years. Certified organic since 1999 for 400 acres of corn, alfalfa and pasture, he’s been very happy with the results so far.

“ In 1999 and 2000 my organic corn actually out yielded my conventionally grown corn. 1999 was a very dry year, and with the organic corn we saw that it looked full a lot longer, because the organic nitrogen was being released at a much more desirable rate than on the conventionally grown corn,” he says.

In 2000 Fry’s organic corn yield was 181 bushels, versus 177 bushels conventionally grown. Production costs were lower on the organic corn, though the labor per acre is higher, which means that he doesn’t have to farm but we as many acres for the same amount of profit.

“Last year, to produce a bushel of conventional corn was approximately $2.23,” he says. “The cost to produce a bushel of organic corn was $1.79. We got $2.25 a bushel for the conventional and a premium price of $4.00 for the organic.”

Food For Life Baking Company

Our story probably began a little something like yours.

It was 1964, and our grandfather, Max Torres, worked at a local, neighborhood natural foods store. He started to become more aware of his body and his health, and very passionate about understanding the intricacies of food. He began to study how foods, when paired with an understanding of one’s own body, can truly uplift, relieve and fulfill one with strength and energy.

50 years and more than 60 products later, our mission is the same. To craft truly wholesome baked goods that specifically cater to helping health aware people who understand the needs of their bodies live life to the fullest.

We take the time to sprout the grains in most all of our products to release nutrients that would otherwise remain dormant. In other cases, we use more than 18 grains and seeds from all over the world in a single loaf of bread, so you can benefit from the most nutrient rich, wholesome products out there. Food For Life developed yeast-free, gluten-free, vegan and diabetic-friendly selections that promote wellness, happiness and assure peace of mind.

From our pastas and breads, to our cereals, tortillas and english muffins we literally strive to bring you the very best food for your life.

• Our diet-specific products are certified by 3rd parties for peace of mind.
• The majority of ingredients in our products are certified organic.
• We use sprouted grains in the majority of our products.
• Our products are certified kosher.
• We don’t use any genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
• We don’t use anything artificial – no preservatives, shortenings or refined sugars.
• We use a unique slow-bake process to preserve the natural fiber and bran benefits of grains.

Being aware and respecting what your body needs and requires is not a stigma, it’s a way of living a healthier more active life – and we are here to support you on your journey.
