Farm Fresh Direct began in 1999. We are a coalition of family farms focused on empowering and educating buyers through the produce we grow (potatoes, sweet potatoes and onions) and the category service we provide. Together, we have introduced a multitude of new products and packaging innovations, as well as become the largest organic potato provider in the U.S. We believe in encouraging everyone to rediscover the joy and simplicity of preparing and eating fresh potatoes and other produce.

Farm Transition Services offers USDA Certified Organic Inputs, including compost, cover crops, biological pest controls, organic seeds, and natural soil amendments, as well as Transition Financing to support farms shifting from synthetic chemicals (herbicides, fungicides, pesticides, and GMOs) to Regenerative Agriculture.

Shenandoah Valley Organic is located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. SVO is a locally minded company that prides itself in producing the highest quality chicken grown on family-owned farms. Farmhand Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a vision to remove harmful chemicals from the global food system. We will do this by supporting farmers through their transition to organic and regenerative practices through education, innovation and providing services such as farm planning, application for certification, access to financial resources, and supply chain development. The website will provide a user experience to help farmers who want to grow organic and regenerative, aren’t sure where to start and don’t have the resources to dedicate to something so complex.

Our story probably began a little something like yours.

It was 1964, and our grandfather, Max Torres, worked at a local, neighborhood natural foods store. He started to become more aware of his body and his health, and very passionate about understanding the intricacies of food. Edzo Struif established FoodSteps in 2010.

Born into a family of entrepreneurs, Struif grew up on a traditional farm in Groningen. He graduated from Nijenrode and the University of Georgia (MBA), acquired broad-based experience in sales and marketing as a Business Unit Manager (Leerdammer), Export and Account Manager (Nestlé) and Commercial Director (Henri Willig). His passion lies with food and international business.

He combines initiative, decisive action and dedication of the entrepreneur with vision, result orientation and customer focus of the professional.

His agricultural background, knowledge and experience in international food markets and roles in international companies make him a valuable partner.

FoodSteps is active on behalf of its clients in markets like Benelux, Germany, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, UK, Ireland, USA, SE Asia and Japan.
