Garnet Hill, Inc.

In the 1970s, Peggy Kirschner and Grant Dowse returned to their rural New Hampshire home from a trip to Europe carrying something new: pure cotton flannel sheets. Softer and warmer than anything they’d found in the states, European flannel became our inaugural offering, under the masthead The Original Natural Fibers Catalog. You can read a personal story by Betty, an early Garnet Hill employee. Her first desk was an ironing board.
Two words describe our design ethos today: Beautiful, Naturally.™

From our New England headquarters, we travel the world in pursuit of elevated materials, inspiration, and true artisanship. We design for women, kids and home, also curating collections with such distinguished design partners as EILEEN FISHER.

We're passionate about social and environmental responsibility, treat people ethically, and partner with like-minded vendors, such as Green Cotton. We give back to the community through organizations with local and national reach.
We're pursuing ever-more sustainable fibers and practices.

Among today's offerings are organic cotton, eco-merino wool, Tencel® made from eucalyptus trees, linen made from sustainable French flax, backpacks made from recycled water bottles, and more. The list grows.

We're members of TextileExchange, a global non-profit working to transform the industry by developing standards for transparency and certification.

You know why sustainability matters.
We'll continue to show you how we’re getting there.

Georgia Organics, Inc.

Georgia Organics is a member supported, non-profit organization connecting organic food from Georgia farms to Georgia families. We believe food should be community-based, not commodity-based.

An outgrowth of a grower’s association established in the 1970s, Georgia Organics is devoted to promoting sustainable foods and local farms in Georgia.

A sustainable local food system is critical to the future of Georgia’s health, environment, and economy.

Recognizing this vital need, Georgia Organics builds supply through grower education and outreach, and grows demand on the consumer and business end by encouraging market opportunities for local food. We have three key goals:

Increase the number of organic and sustainable farmers in Georgia
Increase the number of children participating in farm to school programs
Increase the number of Georgians eating local, organic food

Global Standard gGmnH on Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)

The International Working Group (IWG) on Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) was formed as an initiative of leading standard organizations in 2002 with the goal to unify the various existing standards and draft standards which caused confusion with market participants and consumers and were an obstacle to free international trade with organic textiles.
The member organizations of the IWG that developed the standard are OTA (USA), IVN (Germany), Soil Association (UK) and Joca (Japan).
In the meantime the GOTS has already convinced in practical feasibility and turned out to be the leading set of criteria in the field of organically and socially responsible textile processing with more than 3,000 facilities certified.
