Nature’s Path was founded in Vancouver BC in 1985 by Arran and Ratana Stephens. The company started out, and still is today, a passionate, family-run company that makes delicious, organic breakfast and snack foods.

The seed for Nature’s Path was planted way back in the 1930s when Arran Stephens was growing up on his family’s second-generation organic berry farm. Arran’s father taught him how to care for and nurture the soil, telling him to “always leave the earth better than you found it”. These words have been woven into the very fabric of Nature’s Path.

Nature’s Path products were the first USDA certified organic cereals on the market and since then our company and founders have worked tirelessly to keep organic advocacy at the forefront of our mission. In 2003, curiosity about ancient cultures and the wisdom of traditional foods led founder Zach Adelman to a special collaboration with a small farmer cooperative in the altitudes of the Peruvian Andes. Through this partnership, Zach brought the wondrous health benefits of maca to the United States and thus, Navitas Naturals (now known as Navitas Organics) was born. In partnership with his wife, Meghan Adelman, the two built Navitas Organics to share their vision of building health and wellness for people and planet through nutritious food and organic farming at the core of the business.

Established in 1985, the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey (NOFA-NJ) is a membership-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting organic agriculture in New Jersey through education, technical assistance and advocacy. NOFA-NJ is a unique collaboration among all stakeholders in the food system; its members and governing board include farmers, consumers, retailers, chefs, restaurants, processors, educators and researchers. It serves as a catalyst in the development of an organic agricultural system, providing assistance to both organic and conventional farmers, educating diverse audiences about the significance of organic practices for human health and the environment, engaging with public opinion makers, policymakers and the general public, and participating in numerous coalitions, research projects and community building activities.
