Sally Keefe operates her own business, skFigures that provides consulting servies to agriculture and food businesses and math and economics tutoring to elementary and secondary students.

Sally Keefe’s extensive organic agriculture experience has allowed her to develop expertise in the complex agricultural regulatory environment; in organic crop, livestock and handling certification and regulation; and in the details of dairy production, processing and distribution.

She was Vice President of Legal & Government Affairs for Aurora Organic Dairy from 2007 to 2012. In this capacity, she directed the company’s legal, regulatory and legislative activities in both the organic and dairy policy arenas. She joined the company as Supply Chain Director in 2003, and was subsequently promoted to Vice President, Supply Chain, managing customer service, logistics and milk balancing. Prior to 2003, Ms. Keefe worked for Horizon Organic Dairy in both the milk procurement and operations areas. Before entering the organic dairy field she worked as an environmental economics and policy consultant.

Active in her community, Sally served on the Boulder Valley School District mathematics strategic plan action design team in 2014. She is a parent volunteer for Boulder Junior Cycling, a youth sports program that inspires, coaches and develops junior cyclists. Sally served as a member of the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s Organic Certification Advisory Board from 2007 to 2012.

Our commitment to producing the highest quality wines is evidenced by the amount of time we spend in the vineyard. We planted our youngest block in soil refreshed with the installation of tightly spaced sub-surface drainage, a system that drains spring rainwater to allow timely root growth in optimum conditions. We’ve also introduced a modified trellis system with tighter vine spacing. These efforts increase control over canopy growth and improve fruit conditions, resulting in more highly concentrated grapes. We also restored a riparian corridor that sustains an important ecological balance in our community.

Stahlbush Island Farm is an environmentally friendly farming and processing facility with the goal of growing and processing the highest quality food products, while improving natural resources. We are proud to announce the addition of a new Seed Cleaning Facility. Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth, the new facility has the ability to process grass, grain, vegetable and a variety of other seeds. The facility uses modern technology to precisely clean and process seed for storage and future planting. The facility is capable of processing and handling several thousand pounds of seed per hour and achieves precision cleaning that meets all regulations both state and federal for noxious weeds and inert matter.
